There are two different types of downloads/updates:
-
Free Downloads for those who have not purchased the CD-ROM
-
Updates for those who have purchased the CD-ROM
1. For NEW Online Bible users who have not purchased the CD-ROM:
Without purchasing the Online Bible CD-ROM, you are allowed to download
the Online Bible program and any available modules (Versions -- like the
King James Version, Notes - like Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary, the
Greek lexicon, foreign translations, and more!). Simply follow these
steps to install the program and modules:
-
Visit The Online Bible Update Page to determine which is the correct
program for you to download.
(Note: For Windows 3.1 users, download the 16 bit program. For Windows
95, 98, & NT users, download the 32 bit program).
-
After determining which is the right file to download, actually
download that file to your computer.
-
Find the file which you downloaded to your computer. If the file has a
.zip extension then you will need a utility like Winzip to open it up
and extract the setup files. If the downloaded file has a .exe
extension, then simply double-click on the file to extract the setup
files.
-
At this time, download any modules you would like to include in the
program setup. You must download at least one version. For example,
download the King James Version av.exe.
-
Double-click on each module you have downloaded to extract the
necessary files.
-
Once the setup files have been extracted, run setup.exe (this file was
just extracted from the download file in the previous step). Follow the
onscreen instructions to install the Online Bible program.
-
The program setup should automatically install the modules, but if it
does not appear to be working, you must use the "Restore Backups"
utility to import the module into the program. This is found under the
"Utilities" menu in the Online Bible program.
-
Your program should now be completely setup. Please consider
purchasing the Online Bible CD-ROM as an addition to your library.
2. For EXISTING Online Bible users who have purchased the CD-ROM:
Occasionally, the Online Bible program is updated and the new setup
program is placed on the internet (
http://www.OnlineBible.org
). Follow
these steps to update your Online Bible Program:
-
Visit The Online Bible Update Page to determine which is the correct
program for you to download.
If the downloaded file has a .exe
extension, then simply double-click on the file to extract the setup
files.
-
Once the setup files have been extracted, run setup.exe (this file was
just extracted from the download file in the previous step). Follow the
onscreen instructions to install the new Online Bible program.
-
After completing setup, you can run the new Online Bible program.

Would you like to purchase the Online Bible?
http://www.bible.org
where readers can find a free "net Bible" available for personal use,
ready for downloading. The author of the site (Joe Head, apparently) is
reportedly on the hunt for good "machine translators" to release to
qualified nationals for proofing. If you have a lead, write him at:

Theophilos PC Bible V.3
This free PC Bible comes complete with the latest full
version of Theophilos program, King James (Authorized)
version of the English Bible, Matthew Henry's Commentary
and Easton's Bible Dictionary.

Not Just Another Bible CD
From what readers are telling us, Ken
Hamel's latest version of Online Bible is not "just another Bible CD."
And guess what -- we're hearing *grand* things about the MAC version.
What's more, he reportedly gives *big-time* discounts
to overseas missionaries. (Someone said 50% off at times!) So if you're
in the market for a PC or MAC version of your old Thompson Chain
Reference, but you want 150 commentaries and study books on the same
CD, give a look to Ken's work.

You can even start out with the old King James version as a free demo!
