Synergy Summit For Mobilisers

Specifically designed for mission agency staff who work in church missions mobilisation, the "Synergy Summit" is a three-day training and networking conference. Sponsored by DualReach, the Summit will be held September 5-7, 2002, in Littleton, Colorado. The first day, targeted for new mobilisers and those wishing a refresher on the fundamentals, is focused on mobilisation basics. Day 2 is designed for veterans as well as newcomers, and will include plenary sessions and workshops on a variety of topics key to the success of agency mobilisers. On day 3, participants will be introduced to the brand-new, "Design Your Impact" Workshop they can use in churches to help local congregations become more focused and strategic in their missions efforts. For more information contact Bruce Camp at bruce@dualreach.org.

Are You Done Planning For Your Missions Conference?

Consider Operation WorldView, a multimedia missions seminar customized for the unique mission vision of your church family. "Operation Worldview is the best medium I know to communicate God's perspective on global missions. The entire presentation is filled with superb Biblical content and dynamic multimedia that is shared with great passion and enthusiasm. God clearly worked throughout the presentation, and our church will never be the same." -Peter Simpson, Lay missions leader. For more information about Operation WorldView check out or contact Werner Mischke at werner@mission1.org.

Mission Mobiliser Network

http://www.missionsmobilisation.com

While we are on the subject of mission networks the Mission Mobilisation Network (George Verwer's Acts 13 Breakthrough group) has a new web site (see above). It includes many of George Verwer's articles. It also has information on mission resources as well as links to other good mission sites. The group is also working on having the site available in other major languages apart from English. Make sure you visit the site. Suggestions should be sent to: info@missionsmobilsation.com.

Videos: Brief Inspirational Videos For Malaysian Conference

QUESTION: Could you possibly suggest some missions mobilizing/motivational/inspiring videos (short) which I could use during a 3-day Missions conference at a local church here in Malaysia.

ANSWER 1: Check out http://www.calebproject.org/bomm/dbindex.htm#e. This web page has a few lists and descriptions of mission videos.

ANSWER 2: I HIGHLY suggest a series of video's from Urbana. You can get them at www.urbana.org. Go to the resources/video page and look at the "Issues in World Missions" clips. You can view them on line. There are 9 clips, about 3 minutes apiece and they come on one video for $19.99. I just got them for mobilization purposes in my church. They're great!

ANSWER 3: One video that I liked was the Thread of Promise, by 2100 Productions, a division of IVCF. It is 20 minutes long and traces mission from Abraham through the New Testament to today. Quite moving.

ANSWER 4: We used the recent release called "Our Father's Household" from AD2000 / OM at our recent Missions Fest in Edmonton. Order through OM Video distribution in Tyrone, Georgia. We had very positive responses on it. This was the video produced for the Celebration Messiah 2000 conference in Jerusalem. It deals with the 12 Affinity Blocs of People - done excellently!

Can Operation Worldview Serve Your Mission?

Operation WorldView is a proven, dynamic multimedia seminar to mobilize local churches for global mission -- it's like a mini-version of the Perspectives course. What if Mission ONE presented Operation WorldView at the church of your choice and customized it for the specific mobilization needs of your mission agency and/or project of your choosing? Can we serve each other? For more information, contact Werner Mischke at Mission ONE, toll-free 1-877-649-5866.

Great Resource For Missions Mobilization Materials

Here's a great resource for missions mobilization materials if you happen to live in the USA or know someone who does:

1-8MORE-BOOKS (1-866-732-6657)
or Fax 706-554-7444
or email order@omlit.om.org.

Ask for a catalogue. (Remember that we highly discourage using email for credit card orders.) Noting the obvious lack of a website, we wrote them and they were nice enough to respond, saying that one was in the works. In the meantime, http://www.omlit.om.org says two words "OM Literature" :-)

New Mission Mobilization & Education Network

A newly forming, ground-breaking network of mission agencies, denominations and associations recently hired Mark Sigmon as Director. Also the Director of the Center for World Missions of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI, Sigmon brings excellent credentials and experience in mission collaboration. Charter members are ACMC, the Association of Christian Schools International, Caleb Project, SIM, CB International, TEAM, Woman's Missionary Union of the Southern Baptist Convention, World Concern and Wycliffe Bible Translators. The network serves to share missions mobilization vision, identify key resources, target gaps in missions education resourcing, and address options by which the gaps may be filled. Their initial project will be the launch of a website to reach these goals.

The children's division has already premiered at http://www.21stCenturyKidsConnect.org .
